                              ORDINANCE NO.   9923 
        
        
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO AMEND CERTAIN SECTIONS RELATIVE TO SETBACK 
                   REQUIREMENTS FOR PORCHES, PORTICOES AND ENTRY
                   LANDINGS.

              	   WHEREAS, the staff of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County
         Regional Planning Commission recommended that the provision for 

         setback requirements for porches, porticoes and entry landings
         be changed; and
              	   WHEREAS, a subsequent ordinance was approved for this
         section without the amended language so there is a need for
         correction;
                                 NOW, THEREFORE,
              	   BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
         CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as amended, 
the
         Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended as follows:
              	   SECTION 1.	  That Article VI, Section 104, be
         amended by deleting the following portion:
         104. ...a porch, portico or entry landing may project into the
         required front yard no more than five (5) feet.
        
         And substituting in lieu thereof the following:
        
         104. ...a porch, portico, entry landing or similar structure
         five (5) feet or less in width may extend into the front and
         rear required yards (setback areas) no more than five (5) feet.

              SECTION 2.     BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as
         required by law.
